This quote got me to wonder about what actually happens to waves. So I looked into what this quote is saying particularly. Setting

"So here, now, in the soft heat of a late Florida spring, with blue herons chasing white egrets through a black opal sky, and the stillness of the water around him. . ."(Kate 2). This quote is telling that this book will take place in Florida. Base on the title of the book and what I've read so far I predict that the book will have a lot to do with water. This quote tells you a lot about the setting. You can put yourself in here. You have sight, feel, you can infer the sound of the water, and you can also infer the smell of the salt water. I also predict that the setting will stay in Florida.
