Characters

Right now I am not far enough into my book for the figure out the type of characters in my book. Since I'm still in the beginnings he parents and brother are round characters. And the four princesses are main characters. I think the point of view is first person. I am not sure about that because you can reads all four of the princesses thoughts in their point of view.

Tone and mood

1. The tone of my book right now if flirty. And the mood is happy mood right now. The mood is happy because as the book goes through each princesses point of view it's showing a happy time of the book. Even though there is a war between their country and another and the father is commander or tsar and there only brother went to go fight they aren't letting that get them down. They are finding different ways to distract them ,like the soldiers at the hospital.
2. "We tease Mashka, but Tatiana and i both have our favorite, the way we always pick out officers to flirt with on Standart"(Miller 60). This moment in the book showed that there are cute soldiers in the hospital that the older princesses can try to be friends with. The speakers tone influenced this moment because they are trying to be friends with the soldiers so they have to persuade them into keeping a conversation with them.

Theme and summary

So far in my book I'm still in the beginning/middle of my book so it's too early to tell what the theme is. Right now the book is in the rising action. In The Lost Crown the part that I am at the princesses and their  family are still trying to make it through everything that's going on with the war. Some of these events are their mother is from the country that's fighting with so the soldiers are saying bad stuff about her behind her back as much as people do today. Also the princesses have to deal with the injured soldiers since they are working with the Red Cross. Also they are having hard times going out into public with everything going on, not only do the princesses feel uncomfortable but the guards that have to go with them are uncomfortable also.

reading skills redo

...many of the solders still think of us almost as pets. There is no ignoring the way they cluster round us for snapshots and beg us to sign the photographs. But that too, is kind of medicine for them, so I forbid myself from complaining"(Miller 29/30). In my book the princess are all into nursing the soldiers so they are always helping out in the hospital. Since they are princess people would want to take pictures with. Who wouldn't want to take a picture with royalty? The soldiers don't appreciate them being there. They just think that those girls are the daughters of our king I must take a picture and ask them to sign it. They don't think if them as regular people. It would be like today if you saw your idol. You would go up to them and ask for a picture. I think that the soldiers will continue to treat the girls like this, these they are royal so they are famous. this is like today because today famous people are always asked for pictures, autographs, etc.

Free post

"But with the war dragging on and the newspaper headlines turning grim, I've seen the way some of the men have began looking at Mama. I hear them whisper Nemka, behind her back". This reminded me of the world we live in now. Most people go and gossip behind people's back, call them names, make fun of them, etc. this book takes place in 1915. They probably didn't gossip much or call people a Nemka a lot back then. I remember my grandma telling me that when she was a kind if they didn't like someone they would either tell them or not talk to them.
This also reminds my of the saying we learned back in kindergarten. If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. We have all heard this at least once in our lives hopefully more. It seem like no one listens or remembers that much anymore.
